About our Pastor - Clark M. Cornelius
Formerly lost in the rush of life, rescued by God’s amazing grace; loving his wife – Julie, and their 3 great kids – Ben, Bonny, Grace; following the LORD of life – Jesus. God’s patient preparation of Clark involves both formational experiences and formal education.
A 1992 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Clark led soldiers before God called him from armored cavalry to the army of Calvary. He has served in Korea, Georgia, Louisiana, Haiti, Kentucky, Kansas, and Wisconsin. God taught Clark via childhood on a sheep farm about shepherding as He had done with Moses and David. Thru high school in Lexington, Kentucky, he delivered lots of bad news – the local paper – before God invited him to share the Good News. Via cross country, track, and two marathons, God taught him the endurance needed to run so as to finish the course. God has directed Clark to Masters work at Midwestern and New Orleans Baptist Seminaries, Trinity School for Ministry, AMiA’s Pathfinders program to learn church planting, and more recently Reformed Theological Seminary. Clark has co-labored with Jesus’ followers in Baptist, Assembly of God, Methodist, Nazarene, Four Square Gospel, and Episcopal congregations. Prior staff positions include oversight of missions and evangelism, Christian education including childcare centers, youth ministry, and small group/discipleship
Clark and Julie realize their first parish is their family, where they live the joys and frustrations of raising children to be salt and light in a media-overloaded, consumer-obsessed, activity over-involved culture. Likes: enjoying God in a real Life which involves camping, British tea, Irish heritage, hunting, SEC football, Kentucky basketball and beating Navy in any sport. Work: equipping people formed by the Scriptures, fed by the Sacraments, filled with the Spirit, whose daily faithwalk points to Jesus.
